1. Who we are

Tradvance ("we", "us", "our") is a trading journal application available at this website. We are the data controller for information you provide when using our service.

2. What information we collect

Information you provide directly

• Account information — email address, password (hashed, never stored in plain text), and optional display nickname.
• Trade data — all information you log in your journal: trades, P&L, screenshots, notes, tags, emotions, mistakes, and any other fields you fill in.
• Missed trades — setups you choose to log as missed, including any screenshots and notes.
• Accounting entries — income and expense records you add to the accounting tab.

Information collected automatically

• Session data — we use server-side PHP sessions to keep you logged in. No persistent tracking cookies.
• Basic server logs — IP address, browser type, and pages visited, retained for up to 30 days for security purposes.

Information from third-party sign-in

If you sign in with Google or Discord, we receive your email address, display name, and profile picture from that provider. We do not receive your passwords or payment information from those providers.

3. How we use your information

• To provide and maintain the Tradvance service
• To send you account-related emails (verification, password reset, welcome email)
• To generate AI-powered analysis of your trading data (Pro feature — processed on-demand, not stored by the AI provider)
• To improve the service based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

4. AI features and your data

Tradvance uses AI services (Groq, Google Gemini) to power two features: screenshot-based trade extraction and AI edge analysis. When these features run, a summary of your trading statistics or a chart image is sent to the AI provider's API for processing. This data is used only to generate your response and is not used to train AI models under our agreements with those providers.

You can use Tradvance without ever using the AI features.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

• Service providers — email delivery (Resend), AI processing (Groq, Google Gemini). These providers process data on our behalf under confidentiality agreements.
• Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tradvance, our users, or others.
• Journal sharing — if you enable the journal sharing feature, anyone with your share link can view the tabs you selected. You control this entirely and can disable it or generate a new link at any time.

6. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on servers located in the EU. We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords (bcrypt), and CSRF protection on all forms.

Screenshots and trade images are stored on our servers and accessible only through authenticated requests (or via your share link if sharing is enabled).

7. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and trade records within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated data may be retained longer for service improvement purposes.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Object to or restrict certain processing

9. Cookies

Tradvance uses only a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party tracking cookies. Your theme preference (dark/light mode) is stored in your browser's localStorage — this stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.

10. Children's privacy

Tradvance is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated by email or via an in-app notice.
